Chuck Slonaker I had an idea of what extinction was, but I truly never understood what forever meant until my mom passed over a year ago. I questioned what I was doing and decided after years of painting landscapes and city scapes to concentrate my efforts into activism. What better purpose is there than to champion our fellow creatures who cannot defend themselves against the onslaught of our technology and greed.
I came across a post by animal rights author Bradley Trevor Grieve and his words inspired me towards the direction I have chosen. He said and I paraphrase animals will not put up a fight, they will vanish and there will be nothing you can do to bring them back. I hope you enjoy and are inspired by these paintings. You can purchase prints and other product and I will be donating a serious portion of the proceeds to the Ohio Nature Conservancy whose mission is to preserve our precious wetlands.
P.S. I sign all of my paintings with a peace sign in a p. P-is for Pat, my sweet moms name.
