Showcasing Kent, Ohio and the surrounding
Northeastern Ohio Region.

Portage Park District Keeps On Growing

Executive Director of the district for the past 20 years, Christine Craycroft has a lot to say about the beauty of Portage County, “Portage County has tremendous natural resources – clean water, beautiful forests, wetlands and wildlife habitat – it can be easy to take it for granted. But as this region continues to develop, we need to balance it with conservation to protect our vital natural heritage, while we still have the opportunity. Thankfully, the public showed its support for parks and trails voting to pass our first ever levy in 2014 that finally gives us a stable funding base – it’s made all the difference in the world for our future.”

Berlin Lake Trail - Berlin Lake lies in the northeastern part of Ohio at the junction of Stark, Portage, and Mahoning counties. The lake is accessible from U. S. Route 224 and State Routes 14 and 225. Read the more about this unique and beautiful place in aroundKent Magazine Vol 17
