Hello Friends. We are Duncan and Skye, past winners of the Buddy Sessions Top Dog Contest. It is August and you know what that means? It is time for the Dogs Days of Summer, presented by the Madonio Animal Trust.

We hope to see everyone on Saturday, August 19 from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM in Downtown Kent at the Hometown Bank Plaza. A celebration of man and woman’s best friend, complete with live music, good food and plenty of veterinarian booths and pet product vendors. Be sure to visit the pet adoption area where you just might take home a new best friend.

You won’t want to miss the Eddye & Bill White Strut Your Mutt Parade at noon. We were so proud in 2017 to wear our Scottish finest and strut our stuff. We were not only named Top Dog(s), but best dressed too!  Other contests this year include biggest and smallest and farthest traveled.

In addition to the original Top Dog Buddy Sessions, other past winners include Shiloh (2016), Sheldon (2018), Hazel (2019) and Bean (2021). This year’s entrants are GRRR-eat.  You can see them on the Madonio Animal Trust website at The Buddy Sessions Top Dog Contest (madonio-animal-trust.org)

The Madonio Welfare Trust was established in 2013 with a single goal of promoting animal causes in our community. An endowed fund of The Portage Foundation, they support many local animal groups including Portage APL, Rose’s Rescue and Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary.
