My
photography leans to the metaphorical side. Minimalistic and secretive,
I seek overlooked angles and textured forms, vibrant displays of
discarded beauty and grains. Looking for the tree in the forest, I focus
further on the patterns in the bark. I have always sought the secrets
in life, preferring to view it though my camera's lens. I
enjoy the blatantly colored decayed majesty of architecture to project
the beauty in its passing. In the human form, I try to show the
sensuality in non sexual captures, to play on shadows and the bends of
flesh. In my city scenes, I look for what is just outside the normal.
Abstraction is always my impetus. I prefer shooting with a zoom lens,
leaving the picture to find me, rather than I to find the picture. I
hope to prove that art can be found anywhere if one would just take a
moment to look.
My
first camera was a Brownie when I was in grade school. I have been a
devoted Canon user since my first AE-1 bought in Berlin, Germany. I now
shoot with a Rebel XT and a PowerShot S230 ELPH.
